As an online marketer, I am constantly looking for the next new free traffic source that will hopefully generate some leads that will eventually convert into sales.
During my search I was introduced by a fellow marketer to a safelist membership website called Herculist PLUS. I had never heard of it so I decided to check it out and give my honest opinion about the platform.

What Is Herculist PLUS?
Herculist PLUS is a safelist site that has been around since 1998. Their original website was called Smart-list.com and it was one of the pioneers of email lists before they became popular with marketers. According to the Herculist PLUS website they claim to offer “Simple solutions that allow you to advertise to thousands daily for free”.
They currently have over 350,000 members and they claim that their traffic is 100 percent real people with no bots or fake traffic. They offer members a range of services that allow the advertisement of content such as websites, systems, products, programs or services to a targeted audience of thousands of real people as long as it is legal.
What Is A Safelist Site?
Basically, a safelist or mailer-site is an emailing system where other members are considered to be “approved” email senders. The idea is that when the email recipient receives an email from these “approved” senders, the email address will be classed as “safelisted”. This means that the messages from that sender will not end up in the spam folder and will appear in your inbox.
Membership Plans
Herculist includes the following membership options:
- GOLD – can advertise to the entire database daily.
- PRO – can advertise to the entire database every other day.
- FREE – can advertise to 1000 random members daily at no cost.
GOLD and PRO memberships are auto-billed monthly or yearly.
Advertising Options
Herculist includes the following advertising options:
- Herculist Mailer where members can send emails or web based ads to 350305 targeted REAL people daily. You need to be a GOLD member to take part in this.
- theZONE where Herculist members can surf in theZONE and generate also instant targeted traffic.
- PRIME Ads where members can get their website displayed at PRIME areas of the Herculist website.
- HercuBlurb where members can submit large web based ads to HercuBlurb.
- Other ad services where member can advertise using Solo Ads, Mega-Mail, Buyers List and i-BLAST services.
Who Are The Members Of Herculist PLUS?
Herculist PLUS members are made up of business owners and opportunity seekers from all over the world. Most of these members are promoting products in the make money online and home business niches. I struggle with this whole safelist concept because everyone is promoting competing offers to other members who are promoting similar offers. I’m not sure how this website will help me to generate a lot of leads when the other members are after exactly the same outcome.
My First Impression Of Herculist PLUS
As I am reviewing this product I am having difficulty with experiencing a very slow loading page that took a long time to load. However, the page started to speed up a little bit the more I navigated and click links that took me to various pages on the site.
I was also presented with a message that popped up saying the connection was unsecure when I entered my username and password when logging in.
Once I was inside the member’s area, I had difficulty navigating around the various parts of the website. It was very confusing and the constant ad popups was quite annoying. However, after spending a few hours inside the main advertising page I started to get a good feel for the layout and I was able to understand how the platform is laid out so there IS a slight learning curve for first time visitors.
The Pros And Cons Of Herculist PLUS
Pros
- It’s free to sign up and advertise your product/offer to 1,000 random members every day.
- The website is mobile friendly and looks great.
- Increased activity means more traffic and more results.
- A range of marketing tools and services.
- New members will receive a $5 signup bonus.
- Affiliate program that pays up to 50% commissions on GOLD member signups with an additional 50% commissions that can be earned on all solo ads packages.
Cons
- Website page loading is very slow.
- Too many popup ads.
- Difficult and confusing navigation.
- Unsecure connection.
- Members receive a tidal wave of spam emails from other members.
- Most members are promoting competing products/offers in the make money online and home business niches.
Conclusion
In my opinion I would not recommend this product for the reasons listed in the cons section of this review. There are alternative options for generating free traffic out there that would be much better and I’ve discovered the top 3 free traffic sources that the super affiliates really use.
