I’m a bit of a gullible sucker when it comes to those “quit your 9 to 5 job and chill out on the beach” type of ads that continuously show up on the internet. You know the ones that I’m talking about.

They pop up in your face promising untold riches with very little effort. You can’t avoid them because they’re everywhere.

That’s how I discovered the Secret Email System by Matt Bacak. I was minding my own business when this headline caught my eye: “How I Built A 7-Figure Online Business Using Nothing But Ethical Email Marketing To Drive Revenue, Sales and Commissions”.

Clicking on the ad took me to the sales page where it promises a magical formula for building a highly profitable online business with email and nothing more. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. I was skeptical too. But… I still bought it to check it out. After all, it only costs $5.60.

Sounds too good to be true, right? The aim of this Secret Email System Review will be to dissect the hype from reality and find out what it is, who Matt Bacak is, what I like and don’t like about it, how much it costs, what’s included and my recommendation on whether or not you should pick up a copy.

Does the Secret Email System deliver on its promises, or is it just another pile of false claims? Let’s find out.

What Is Secret Email System?

So, what is the Secret Email System? It’s a 60 page eBook in PDF format that concentrates on teaching the basics of affiliate marketing through the use of “ethical email marketing”. Several resources are included which I will list in a later section of this review.

The book has has been written with the beginner in mind and covers how to choose profitable offers, Matt’s top 7 traffic sources, the number 1 mistake most newbies make when starting out, how to scale your revenue and profits and how to automate your business.

Who Is Matt Bacak?

Matt Bacak is the founder of the EPC Institute and an award-winning email marketer. He is big in the make-money-online world. He has built a huge following with his “in-your-face” style. Love him or hate him, he knows his stuff… though that doesn’t mean that you have to agree with everything he teaches.

My Experience With The Secret Email System (Not Exactly Beach Bliss)

Here is my full confession: Out of sheer desperation (and the advertisement looked very shiny and attractive), I purchased the Secret Email System. Here’s my proof:

After purchasing the product I was able to download the ebook and resources as a zip file to my computer. Here are the contents of the zip file:

I couldn’t wait to get started making some much needed cash in 30 minutes. After all, that’s what the sales page said:

Later that night I read the Secret Email System ebook on my trusty laptop from cover to cover. It took me at least a little over two hours to read the entire 60 pages and I estimated it would take me a few hours to set everything up. So I’m a little skeptical of the “30 Minutes A Day” promise.

My entire experience was soured by the brief content itself. Matt doesn’t really go into a lot of detail in the book and the affiliate marketing section is very basic. It’s actually a paid lead magnet to get you into his funnel where he can offer his higher priced Done-For-You email marketing packages and memberships.

The information is also outdated. I purchased the Secret Email System when it was launched in 2020 and it hasn’t been updated since that time. And the price is still the same $5.60 as it was back then.

It’s now 2024 and a lot has happened to email marketing, yet the sales page still advertises the Secret Email System to a newer audience of desperate beginning online marketers by claiming that this is “For Anyone Looking To Start, Scale and Grow A Digital Business In 2024”. It also claims that it is a “New Book”.

It’s obvious that the Secret Email System is NOT new and the sales page uses deceptive marketing tactics to try to rope you in to making a purchase by creating the feeling of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). It does this by using false scarcity methods. Here are two examples:

1. The Regular Price of $37 is crossed out and Today’s price of $5.60 is highlighted in red to make you believe that you’re getting a huge discount during the launch period. This is BS because the price has been $5.60 since 2020.
2. There is a countdown timer on the sales page that gives the impression that the low priced offer which includes all bonuses will end when the timer reaches zero. Again, this is not true because if I return to the sales page tomorrow the timer will reset. This timer has been resetting itself since 2020.

It would be much better to check out a free alternative such at this:

Is The Secret Email System Right For You?

Honestly, don’t waste your time on this. I know it’s only a small financial outlay of $5.60, but that’s irrelevant to the amount of time you’ll be wasting by going down this rabbit hole and you can’t get that time back. There are better ways to build an online business that I’ll share with you later in this review.

Who Should Avoid Secret Email System Like The Plague?

You should definitely stay away from the Secret Email System if:

• You’re looking for a way to build a serious and ethical long-term online business without the hype and fluff that’s currently out there in today’s market.
• You can’t stand overly aggressive sales pitches from self-proclaimed internet marketing ‘gurus’.
• You’re chasing rainbows and you want riches without putting in the effort. The Secret Email System doesn’t really mention the word WORK, but you can’t gain long-term results without it.

Don’t expect anything mind-blowing. Most of this stuff is outdated and the email swipes are over-saturated.

Secret Email System Pricing – How Much Does it Cost?

Front-End Pricing

The current front-end price for the Secret Email System is $5.60 (this has been the only price since 2020). It starts cheap, but that’s just the bait to lure you in.

Upgrades

Are there any upgrades? There are four:

One of the things I’ve learnt about email marketing is that you should write your own emails to inject your own personality into them, and I discovered through reading the Secret Email System that Matt is also a firm believer in doing the same. However, the first two upsells are Done-For-You email marketing packages.

If you do the math, Matt sold 25,000 copies of this product which means that a certain percentage of people who purchased the front-end also purchased the upsells. Those same people are using the email swipes included in the upsells to send emails to their own subscribers. Therefore I’m pretty sure these emails are starting to become saturated in the market.

Q 1. I’m a total newbie to email marketing. Is Secret Email System worth trying for the cheap intro price?

A. You might learn a few very basic concepts, but there are likely better, free resources out there. Don’t expect this to be a comprehensive guide, especially for current email marketing practices.

Q 2. Can I really make a living with this, like they promise in the ads?

A. Highly unlikely. Building a profitable online business takes serious effort and often an investment beyond just this course. The Secret Email System oversells how easy it is and plays on that “get rich quick” desire.

Q 3. The upsells sound annoying. Are they necessary to succeed?

A. Definitely not! The core product is designed to push you toward those upgrades. Focus on learning solid email marketing fundamentals first – you can find plenty of those resources without shelling out extra cash.

My Final Thoughts – Is The Secret Email System Worth It?

My final message to the average person is to stop looking at this opportunity through rose coloured glasses, keep your money and walk away from the Secret Email System. It’s not worth it in terms of the amount of time wasted trying to chase rainbows. It feeds off the inner desperation that we feel sometimes.

In reality, those overnight success stories that you read about on social media and the news don’t tell the whole story. It takes several months and possibly several years for an overnight success to happen.

Here’s the real deal:

The best type of online business to build is honest, ethical, evergreen, sustainable and for the long term. Building a thriving online business such as this takes time, effort and learning the right skills.
